A Little ray of sunshine!

Let there be sun shining over me this Sunday, as I present my first Junkit Junction Sale, at Lawson,' Magpie Markets".

For all those locals who may be interested, please drop by, would love to meet you, see you, as the case may be!

I am quietly beginning to panic, I have been so busy with other things this week, it will be a case of throwing everything in the car, and sorting it out when we get there! Here is just a peek at what will be there...Chenille and quilted bedspreads, glass bowls, canisters, baskets, mirror, pin board, a suitcase of clothes, and so much more. I know ,as you can see in the photos,I havent packed anything yet!

As I have been preoccupied lately, ebay has been a bit neglected, but I have managed to add these few things. The mosaic table is quite a 'Transition' from what it started out as. Im pretty happy with it, though I miss my plates! My daughter had a great time, and released some aggression she didnt know she had...though she is a redhead!!
I also have this cute desk. And just listed tonite, is this gorgeous dinnerset.

Better get back to it, I do work well under pressure, so wish me luck, and I will post photos next week.

Dont sweat the small stuff...

I have for you, some more specials I have found in the past week. Of course, a few to sell, and more to keep!!

I am listing this gorgeous teak cabinet tonite...it will be very hard to part with, but essential to my cleanup plan!

This lamp is stunning, and although I have a few milk glass pieces, Im willing to share...
What an assortment of wonderful things, cups and saucers, baskets, lamps, it doesnt get any better than this, well it probably does. Each weekend it just gets better, and the weather is getting warmer, it is just a delightful way to spend a morning, afternoon,or a whole weekend fossicking around!

DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!! By Richard Carlson. Ph.D.

I came across this book recently, and it has become my bible! If any of you have read it, you will understand what I mean. I read it in a couple of hours, havent read a book in 3 years! My eldest daughter read it and could see what she already practised, and needed to work on.

Sometimes it is hard to see the glass is half full ,rather than half empty. Sometimes it takes all your strength to see the good in something, or someone.

But whilst reading it the other night, so many times I found myself nodding in agreement with thoughts that spiral out of control, and have that snowballing effect! Here are a few titles to go by...

"Remind yourself when you die, your inbasket wont be empty". We all try to get everything done, finished, accomplished, but we never do, it wont happen, there will always be more!

"Become a better listener".Im usually so busy trying to tell someone everything, I barely listen!

My fav one at the moment is"Look beyond behaviour". I have 3 teenagers, and counting to 20 doesnt work anymore! There is light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully everyone will come out of it in one piece!

There are so many good ones, and it has opened my eyes so hopefully I can be a better person...well, I said hope!!

I may quote a few more titles from the book along the way, they make you stop and think about stuff!

In case you havent read my all important news....Junkitjunction's sale is on the 30th of this month, Lawson markets!! Im busy pricing, and packing for the big day, and if the sun is shining, I'll be there! Im hoping my dearest friend will be there too, and it will be a great day had by all!

So I will end my blog by saying this;

" Remember, that you become what you practise most!

In other words,if you are easily frustrated,,then unfortunately, you life will always be frustrating, as you are well practised! You have trained yourself to think that way your whole life, time to make a change!

Here's to good health, and good junkin'....

Well another successful weekend of browsing the junkshops and junkyards for those all important pieces...of junk! With hubby away, yet again, I had no choice but to 'work', I sware he is the one driving me to junkheaven!

So here are just a few of my specials, not too big, so they dont clutter up my verandah! And I know what you are thinking, how can people throw these away, or sell them so cheaply, and believe me, they were very cheap! I guess that is why there are people like me , to recycle, and reuse! It has become a real passion of mine over the years, and some people just cant see the true value in the 'elements' of days gone by.Whether it be painting, scraping, fixing, of just plain washing....they are too valuable to toss away.

BRING THEM MY WAY!!

I absolutely love this bin, its huge, old and original! And look at this tray mobile, it looks like it may have come from a primary school!

Glass doorknobs, pretty lightfittings, frames and more!
As usual, I have intensions to do these up, clean ,paint, fix.....but they really need to be here for a while, a couple of them may even stay permanently! But do keep watch, on one of my strong days I might just list them on ebay!

I managed to part with a few....check them out in my store.

Finally...

Sometimes it takes a while to finally get around to doing things...well I have done it! Im not sure how to link this to a blog I did, 'Sleep deprived Junker,' but this is the result .After many layers of stain, paint etc removed, and sanding, I gave it 3 coats of cream / ivory, and distressed it. Im happy with it, more happy that it is done, and I will be even more happy when someone buys it!!It is listed for tonite. Too wet to paint anymore today, but hopefully I will have more to list on ebay Sunday night.

I can see the gate at the end of the verandah now, Im slowly making progress!
Today, is the Apec public holiday in Sydney, stopping at the base of the mountains, how rude! Can I just tell you how frantic everyone up here was today?? It's like someone has called out on a loud speaker," Ok, you can come up here, everything is open!"
The amount of people, cars, lack of space, cues, it was incredible...So did anyone go and visit my fav shops?
It reminded me of England, I was over there a few years ago. You knew when there was a public holiday, or long weekend. The roads would be backed up for hours with caravans and trailers!Again, it was like someone had made an announcement, and all of a sudden they were there .In fact, I think the extra day they had, they spent in traffic!! Funny to watch!!

Just Browsing!

To some fine bloggers out there, you know who you are....

I am inspired by many things, many places, and many people. Just browsing through some of your blogs , they are a real eye-opener, the talent that you all have...whether it is a craft you make, the gardens you adore, or the homes you all make just that, your home! If I could only name a few things I 'GET' from your blogs, it is the passion and creative thoughts, the gorgeous photos, and the inspiration you give me.I truly enjoy 'Checking out' everyones' ideas, and it's interesting to find they are all quite different and from all perspectives.

I can see the addiction some people have with blogging, time just ticks away!

I decided to share with you, a couple of special shops I love to visit, sometimes tooo much! These two are probably the closest to being my home! 'Frou Frou' is quite new to

Springwood, having moved from the city, but it has made such an impact to the locals, and of cause, to me.I instantly felt at home, and have become quite friendly with the owner, Parisa.

This "Retro Gear" shop,in Glenbrook, has great clothes, linens, bedspreads, and all that screams 'Retro'!

There are so many great shops here on the mountains, and I will add some more next time.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION!!ATTENTION!!ATTENTION!!ATTENTION!!ATTENTION!!

I have noticed I need to clear out some things, actually, Im having a bit of a panic attack! The weather is warming up, and my verandah needs to be free, so here goes!! If the weather is on my side, please join me ,and come for a wonderful drive up the mountains, this market is a fantasic one for trash and treasure...I just hope I dont buy anymore while Im there! My mum will be helping, and I will be the stall with the most,Im sure!
