I am strong, I am invincible, I am...

I am kidding myself!!!

I am finally at peace with the world! Why, you ask....

The last time I went out junking, thrifting, buying, whatever you like to call it,well, I cant quite remember. I have been sifting through all my 'stock' here, trying to make do with what I have!

But not today. I had to get out, clear the mind, pinch hubby's car, and get my 'fix', Im suffering from cabin fever!

With a tight budget, I knew I had to wear my blinkers, and be very strict , oh Im so proud of myself!!

Look what I found, plates, decorative bridal headbands,

a vase, lampshade, voile apron, linen tablecloth, hairclip, and a gorgeous vintage bedjacket to add to my collection, well one of my collections. There was so much more I could have indulged in, but I walked out with my head held high.I dont have to buy everything in the shop, but if they are there next week, then they are meant to be mine!!

Actually, Im so strong, I may just list some of these on ebay tonite, and I may not!

An hour of shared thoughts...

Twenty-one today,twenty-one today!!!

Hubby and I celebrated our 21st Wedding Aniversary today, and enjoyed a lovely quiet lunch.

Gone are the days back when we took the day off work, painted the town red, and came home in the wee hours! Well we did it once, and then we had our first child! Each year thereafter, celebrations gradually toned down. Today, we werent really hungry, couldnt really afford it,and didnt have much to say, but thought we should do a lunch to mark the occasion ,before getting back to work.......it was all over in an hour!
Ahhh, it's the thought that counts.
Sounds a bit like rememberence day doesnt it? Lol!
Well, back to it, Im still packing for the big move, cant wait to set up in my new studio, will show pics soon.
P.S My son just came out to me, and handed me a card.I opened it and it reads...To you, from me.
It is an anniversary card from hubby, and it is still in the plastic! The thought really does count!

You're saving me money!!

All of you, Im talking about!!

If you didnt know already, I am somewhat of a hoarder, I mean collector! In particular, magazines! I have shown you some photos, but really it is a huge collection, too big!

I met a lovely lady this morning, a customer picking up something she bought off ebay, and we were chatting about our hobbies. I mentioned my blog, explaining it was a great way to have therapy, and it's free. I have my 'fix', browsing through people's houses, shops, and gorgeous photos, without spending a fortune on magazines! Sure, there are still a few I like to buy, but all of you talented, and house proud bloggers out there are supporting my 'habit', and saving me money at the same time, so thankyou.

Seasonal wishes!

I had a visit from my wonderful friend Sue, and she arrived with these beautiful flowers, and a hug! So of cause, I provided the tea!

We are seeing her again Easter Sunday with our families, hopefully she wont make us wear those silly bunny masks again!

Although the days are still quite warm here, the afternoons are starting to show signs of Autumn. The leaves are starting to drop, the fresh air moves in about 4.30, and the days are starting to shorten. Daylight saving is nearing the end. I know there are mixed thoughts when it comes to Daylight Saving, but I just love it, and will be sad for it to end. Im up early, and come in later, whether Im hosing the garden (with water from my tanks), or painting out on the verandah, it just feels like you live more! So Im cooking on the barby as often as possible, before it gets too cool, and dark.

Today I decided to make these cute flowers for Easter, and hand out to my neices and nephews, if they last till Sunday!!! So easy and quick to make. I soaked some skewers in green food colouring, bought a couple of hawaiin lays, (you could also use cupcake papers) and a bag of eggs, and set to work. All under $10! Try it, kids will love them!

~*~*~*~*~

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter, and safe holiday weekend. I hope there are lots of easter egg hunts, and lots of chocolate, and lots of family getogethers!!

Replenishing the soul...

When working at home, days seem to go by without much acknowledgement, and before I know it, a week, two weeks, two months have gone by! It's like you are in your own little world, head down, oblivious to everything around you....and then something pulls you out , you put your head up, and wonder what time it is, what day it is, and what you have missed!!

Hopefully tomorrow will be a soul revitaliser, when my friend Sue comes up to play! Though time between visits doesnt really matter as we always speak on the phone. A hug, a cup of tea, and flowers in my home ,are always welcome!!!

It seems Summer has decided to come back for a while, so I thought I would have a "Belated Summer Sale", in Autumn! With the move and all, I need to clean out the 'old', and fill with the 'not so old', so if you get a chance over the next week, go take a look in my ebay store for some bargains to be had! Here are some of the many I will be listing...after a cleanup and a lick of paint!!

My friend 'the diamond python' has moved on to a bigger and better tree, mmmmm, maybe he'll be back in November when the mulberries grow, do snakes like berries? I hope not, as interesting as he was, Im not a fan!

Well my junking days are on hold at the moment, I think I'll get by with the mounds of junk I already have! My car died during the week...you know when you see cars flying along the freeways bellowing smoke, and you have to change lanes just to see in front of you?? Well that was me!! In hubby's words, I have 'cooked' the engine! He said I did a good job of it. I always say, if you are going to do something, do it properly!! Not really a laughing matter, it is going to cost me a small fortune, so for now it is time to test out public transport, wish me luck!

For the love of 'IT' !!!

Well, I have to say, if I didnt feel passionate about 'it', and so lucky to find 'it', then I wouldnt do 'it', would I ?
Junkin', that is !!!
Id like to think Im doing 'it' for the money, but realistically I think I pour so much into my little business, that sometimes Im lucky to come out in front at all ! I do 'it' for the love of it, I enjoy fossicking through mixed baskets, bags, cupboards, not knowing what I may find, and then changing, and creating...it is the 'not knowing', that keeps me going!!

Unfortunately, love doesnt pay the bills,so Junk-it Junction has to step up to the mark, and earn its keep! So there are going to be a few changes happening soon, in preparation for Spring...isnt that when all the action happens, the birds sing, the flowers bloom, and the babies hatch???

Junk-it Junction studio is moving house...only 30 steps away!

I hear you say "Spring? That's 2 seasons away!" It will take me that long to pack, sort, and unpack !
Though, I do have to kick out a critter which has taken up residence a little too close for comfort.I was feeding my fish, and felt something looking at me, and slowly looked up to this!! It took me a while to find its face.It scared the bageebas out of me!!!

Stay tuned!!!

Found treasures....

Some snippets of my favourite golden books!

With my studio cleanup still going strong, it is feeling a bit like Christmas again!

I came across these gorgeous books I had forgotten. I bought them from a garage sale a couple of years ago, with the intention of selling them, so they were quickly whisked away without even an attachment sparking...till now!

After flicking through them, to get ready to list on ebay, all these childhood memories came flooding back, and I was just loving the colourful pictures, and the stories, oh,I wish I was a kid again!

Surely I cant part with these now....or can I?

Does anyone else own this collection, I only had the little books, about 20 of them! I hadnt seen them like this before.

So after a cup of tea, and a walk down memory lane, I felt I should get back to work, and finished off this little cutie. This table had new / old legs replaced, and vintage trimmings to complete! I will list it in my store tonite.
