The question that hovers around at the moment is,' What does your home decorating say about you?'
Well, after much thought, I would have to say,
"My home is your home".
Now I know others out there ( and family and friends), might disagree with that...hoarder, junkaholic, messy, these words may come to mind, for them!
But truly, when someone walks in my front, or back door, I want them to feel comfortable and relaxed, and welcome to pull some weeds if they feel the need, cook a meal, sweep the verandah....need I go on?
No seriously, my home is a home, not a house on display! It is well-lived in,there is a place for all my collections, and bits of junk, and if there isnt ,I make one!
I was trying to determine my 'Style' of decorating, but I love so many, there is a real mixture, and it all seems to work well together. I really like the Country, rustic look, but also with a bit of antique, vintage, retro, modern and french country!
So what's your style, and what does it say about you?
Your home sounds like a great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat place to pull up a chair and have a coffee/cuppa and a chat.
I love to go into a home where you feel comfortable and not too scared to make the place look messy by sitting down.
I guess my style is shabby chic with a touch of country style, it says that Max has yet to let me repaint all my furniture!!
I love the serene, peaceful feeling I get from the shabby chic style

I am sure your home i9s so inviting. Would love to visit! I love lots of modern & shabby chic at the same time. So I guess you could call me 'modern shabby chic' or 'colourful shabby chic'??
ReplyDeletePeople always tell me that my home is cozy. I love to hear that as that is exactly how I want them to feel.
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! The blog is beautiful! I hadn't seen it yet.
ReplyDeleteMy decorating style sounds just like yours, except mine is probably messier. I think people are often afraid to sit down. Actually, they often *can't* sit down. But I'm working on that. Trying to get things under control.
Touche! Your home sounds like my home :)
ReplyDeleteHey, thank you so much for stopping by :) It's always so great to meet new people, especially from NSW. If you love treasure hunting as much as me you should check out this AMAZING salvage yard at Badgerys creek. You can see some pics of it on my blog.
Sue, is that you in that swimsuit?
