From all directions!!

I find when I go out junking, Im never really looking for anything in particular, things usually jump out at me if they want to come home ...but sometimes the strangest things happen.I'll see something, lets say a 'teaset', and it will be so adorable, that I cant leave it, but then ,suddenly I come across another one, equally adorable! What can I do, but buy both the sets!!

For the rest of my day, teasets seem to stand out from anything else,in all directions, and I dont collect them, but when you are on a roll...I suppose that is how most of my collections started.

I believe', if you keep finding the same things whilst out fossicking, that just maybe, you are meant to have them...it's a sign!

Ok, I know what you are thinking, the obsessiveness of collecting has gotten out of control, but is there any other explanation? It happens to me alot, but I suppose you have to be sensible occasionally, and ignore the 'signs'.

They are so cute though, maybe I'll be strong and put them on ebay soon, well eventually!

Here are a few other items I will be listing soon.
These oil lamp bases are just gorgeous, and might live here for a little bit.

Such a pretty platter, it looks so nice there!

I love this, have been looking for one for ages, needs a clean up.
These stools were a great find, and I just need to finish prettying them up!
This is so shabby chic, just devine! Single bed quilt.

On to a different subject for a minute....

My Cocker Spaniel,Toby, needs to have us in his sight constantly, he is a real peoples dog, and he thinks we are here for him, and only him! So the minute we go out the back door, he is there, with a toy in his mouth, ready and waiting. But what is so funny is he is battling to see inside the glass doors, I have a few bits of junk there, shock, horror, so they are blocking his view. Every time I turn around to see him, he is in a different position, on a chair, on his bed, under a table! There isnt much space for him, it is a bit of a maze! These photos were taken in order, getting his toy, barking at me to play, ignoring me cause I told him to stop barking! So cute, he spent the afternoon at the groomers getting shampoo, cut and blowdry, so handsome!

I like to sometimes use different things for props around the home, just because...thought I'd share a few with you... Baby scales to nurse my rolling pins...
An old grater to hold my fruit bowl/ strainer.

An old meat slicer, to display glassware, and more fruit. More old scales...

  5. Thanks for visiting Aunt May's Cottage today. I love your blog! You have such unique and wonderful, old items to display and a COCKER, too. My favorite dog!

I think your eBay wigget is too big for the sidebar. That's why it is not showing the whole thing. It looks great and gives your blog visitors a nice idea of your listings, anyway. I like it there.

  6. Oh Poor Toby. All I ever see of him is his nose when I come to collect somethng & he barks at me through the verandah gate. Sue, he has "Separation Anxiety". Maddie has it too, won't let me out of her sight. Don't we love it.

  8. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! That way I found yours!! What pretties!

Love the pretty stools, those teasets (especially the blue/brown roses one!), the baby scales holding your wonderful rolling pins. I especially love Toby!! Love his name, too. Did you ever read the children's book Toby Tyler Joins the Circus? I've love that name for years!! And your Toby is quite handsome.

Why be sensible? I quit that YEARS ago!!!
