Buried treasures and new collections...

Yes, as I dig down deep into my suitcases and cupboards, on this extremely warm Friday, I remember a couple of years ago, buying a gorgeous sari and wrap! I need to find them, I need to admire the fabric once more...Why, you ask? I found another one in my travels yesterday, and now I think I may have started another, yes another collection! They just come out of nowhere, I really dont ask for them, but what am I to do?

Yesterday's purchase!

There's something about saris, the fabric is devine, usually handsewn, and rarely two are alike. My first intentions when I buy them, is to cut them up and use the fabrics for some wonderful projects, but when I bring them home, I cant touch them! They are just beautiful, and may have been worn at a wedding, plus the hours of sewing....but what am I going to do with them? Bury them for another day....

A sari wrap buried away!

Buried treasure!

Yesterday,I found this cute hat to add to my collection! Well I dont really collect them ,they are just on display. I dont wear them, Id like to, but I just dont. So they sit up on my cupboard, collecting! My friend Jill has made me a hat, and it is in the mail as we speak, I cant wait to add it to my collection, and maybe Jill might convince me to wear them!!

In the past two weeks whilst out minding my own business, I practically tripped over a thermos or two, or three, and they are my kitchen colours...yep you guessed it, I have another new collection! What's going on? Here I am trying to do the right thing, Im doing a major cleanout at my house, Im so proud of myself, as you can imagine, it is very hard to part with alot of these things. But Im doing it, and yet, Im bringing back more into the home! They keep calling my name, Sue, Sue, we need you! I cant sleep at night!

So the only sensible thing I feel I have to do (to keep the guilty feelings at bay), is to sell the same amount of things I bring in....coming in....going out! So check out my side bar over the next few days, and I'll give you a glimpse of new additions to my Website and ebay store.

  1. Hi Sue! Love your collections! I am a fellow collector as well. I know how hard it is when something just calls out your name-so to speak-and you just have to have it! I am what I call a re-covering pack rat. Oh it was one of the hardest things to do-give up some -well a lot of my stuff. Hey now I have room for new stuff! Hope you are having a nice day!~Smiles~Tam!

Well, the hat, I wish that hat would show up in the mail! I beginning to wonder if it's not tied up in customs. I hope not..
