Bright light!

What a difference a day makes!

The sun is shining in this neck of the woods, and it's a weekend, what great timing!

With the bright light in the sky, I can see this place falling apart around me , so in true form I started half a dozen jobs and projects all at once!

Does anyone else do that, or is it just me.....hmmmm!

Following the five loads of washing, bathing Toby and mowing lawns, I couldnt wait to get out in the overgrown garden, oh but not to 'garden', to take photos of course! Ive missed playing with my camera in good lighting.

Then I continued to clean and organise the verandah, and if you have been following along with this blog, you'd know all about my verandah!

My son has been building some drawers for the kitchen, so it has been a bit of a building site of late. They are now in their spot, and I will share pics as soon as my new benchtops arrive!

The good thing about having freestanding cupboards in the kitchen /dining rooms, is I can move them around to suit. The bad thing is that I can move them....

(My family dont take well to change.Maybe because I do it so often...)

The new drawers will be replacing my pantry cupboard, so I have more benchspace. I love my pantry cupboard so much,it is an old railway cupboard, lots of history. I couldnt part with it, so I had to find a new use for it, and moved it just a few metres away!
It's now filled with old sets of scales, set of canisters, kitchenalia, linen and tablecloths.
(thinking of papering the back of it, any suggestions?)

Although I gave away alot of my old country decor, I kept just a few of my favs!

This old school cupboard housed a tv, board games, and bottles of red wine, which I might add, we dont drink!

This was an easy fix! Tv went out to Ryan's mancave, games stored away in sons old room, the cupboard is going on ebay tonite, and the wine?
I'll be gifting them to friends and family!

I feel I am finally getting on top of some of these I started, and never finished. This weekend has been productive to say the least!

I have a busy week at work ahead of me,so enjoy the rest of this gorgeous weather and I will chat again soon :)

Operation cleanup!

I wish!
The heat at the moment is just too much...42deg celcius today, and much the same for the rest of the week!
The aircon is getting a workout between dips in the pool...Yeh Ive got it tough I know!
Since my next sale announcement, the pressure is building, creations in the works, and lots of projects lined up to be painted(when it cools down).
But it also means ,some items I have been hanging onto but meaning to sell, need to move down to the studio, it's time...

Find this HERE (SOLD)

So here's a couple of new additions to the website and Ebay store...

Keep watching, I have about another thirty more to add!

Living in a disposable world...

This purging is against everything I stand for!

For one...Why throw out something that just needs clamping and regluing, sanding and painting?

For two...Why throw out something that can be used for parts for something else?

And for three....Im a hoarder  collector not a thrower!

One very big positive has come out of this though, I am getting my verandah back, yay!

No, sadly this photo was from a few years ago, Im not quite there yet...

**Im keeping busy and away from the news, I cant watch it anymore... I tear up with sadness and cant believe the destruction Queensland has and is going through, while at the same time in Victoria, they are going though similar circumstances.
Our country suffered with drought for so long, and now the floods.
This year will be remembered not only for the floods, but for the aussies flocking together as they do, helping and supporting anyone in need, and rebuilding their lives and homes.
If you can, just give a little...
Donations are being taken from many supporters around the country, every $$ counts...

The girl's Junk shed!

If only I had cleaned this out a few years ago!

Yes, Im ashamed...

Instead of reorganising, it was easier to build another one!

Yes, Im ashamed...

But it ended up much like the first one!

Ive been on a mission with this 'Autumn cleaning', and am amazed what some good music and fresh cool weather can do to nudge me on, and Peter Walsh has had something to do with it.

All I could think of during this cleanup, is I dont know any women with their own shed,(exception of handy blog buddies) with their own tools, paint, timber, and all the nuts and bolts, nails and screws that go with them.

So to mark it my own and keep the boys out, rather than a scull and cross bone, I thought Id add this little number, what do you think?

Hubby and son have their own shed, but sometimes they pinch things out of mine! For my son, the up and coming professional carpenter, (in three and a half years),Im giving him my router and sander, and shares in the circular saw. I dont use these tools much, and I know he will.
So why do I need two sheds now, you might well ask...
Ive managed to fit all of my tools, hardware, paints and bits and pieces into this one, and in the other cupboard,I hope to fit all our outdoor things like cushions umbrellas, sail, pool toys etc, but somehow, I dont think that is going to happen, I still have more junk to fit somewhere!
Leave me with it for a few days, and I'll see what I can come up with, but know this, I am building a very ,very, large pile of rubbish to take to the tip!
(be strong, be very strong)

Next...(drum roll please)....The Verandah...I hope!

Yes, Im ashamed...

Once upon a time, a couple of years ago, xmas 2007, I did clean it up to this point...

Creating amongst mess!!

I have been creating so much lately, I cant even get into my office/craft room without a plan of attack, one step to the right, tiptoe to the left, jump quickly, and hang onto the chair.....I really need to tidy up, but I can see everything out, and just want to make more!Yesterday, I decided to decorate these fine candle holders.

I bought them a while ago, thought they would look nice in my daughter's room, same colour, but after I finished adorning them with all things vintage, I knew she wouldnt like them, and I dont have room anywhere for them, so they are going on my website! I was sitting on the floor for what seemed hours,(no bench space) and now Im suffering, my back wont straighten!

My verandah isnt much better, I thought I would have a bit of a production line happening, if Im in the mood to paint, it is easier to do a few things at once......but not when there is limited space! Poor Toby, he had bits of paint all over him, though I have to say, he does like to sit in the middle of it all!

They're not quite finished, I'll show the after photos another time!

The weather is just perfect at the moment, so Im off to create some more!
So what's happening at your place?

It's gotta go!!

We had a great day yesterday, it was warm and the flies were around, and we're very sunburnt,...typical Australia Day! We are having all the family here next weekend to celebrate all the 9 birthdays we have this and next month, including mine!

I thought I would show you this gorgeous sideboard I will be listing on ebay tonite. After it has been sitting in my living area for the past week, Im loving it, of course! It matches my colours, but dont worry, my family have made it quite clear, it's going! They are even concerned I have placed things on the top! I assured them it was for photos, they dont trust me one bit!!

It weighs an absolute ton, but is so strong and sturdy, carved teak and it is 150yrs old!I hope someone can love it as much as I do...

Well today is so much cooler, so Im off to clear my verandah, again. My family have to sit somewhere, I guess!

Toodles!!
