See what happens when Im left home alone?

I was left to my own devices over Easter which involved mixed emotions....Hubby and son went for a charity ride out to Burke!

I spent my wedding anniversary alone, but thankfully my friend came and kept me company.

I caught up with friends and family.

I ate some melted Easteregg my daughter bought me.

And....I made this!!!

Well, when I say I made it, I didnt really make it, I styled it!
I had a very old, some might say vintage, school chalkboard taking up space on my verandah.
I thought what better place to use it than as a bed head in my guestroom!

My first guest was my eldest daughter, she complained the timber hurt her head...
I finally bought the materials to make the soft insert, but before I could put it together, I had another guest stay in the guest room, he didnt like the timber in the head either...

So as a distraction from my presentation I should be preparing, I finally finished it today, but not before my middle daughter decided to stay in the guestroom tonight...
You can guess the outcome this morning...
So today ,I finally installed the soft insert.
Doesnt it look pretty?

Im happy with it, it's high, it's large, and it's the feature of the room... though I will also upholster the lower timber that you can just see, to be assured of no more sore heads!

Now for the rest of the room, starting with the horrible walls....
Will keep you up to date via facebook!

Largest collection to date!!

Hello fellow junkers!!
It's been a while, and Im not sure if Ive fully recovered from the holidays, but stepping into the New Year always gives me that sense of the unknown ya know?

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I feel I need to go back to my comfort zone of yesterday, and more familiar surroundings....

So Ive been working through the piles of mine and my family's life around the home, sorting, culling, and reminiscing. I guess when another child is leaving the nest in two weeks, it tends to do that to a person....
With one other flying the coop last November, Im starting to ask myself the question...'why are they leaving me?'
It seems it is time. Time for them to grow, explore, and become the best they can be! Well, I already think they are, but who am I to stop them!

My son Ryan is more than happy to stay a bit longer, and is moving out to Cara's room the day she has gone! Her room  will become the 'mancave'.

So with all of this happening, I cant help think of the changes it will make to myself , the business, and my priorities in life....So Im surrounding myself with what I know best...distraction!!

Collecting, junking, theyre certainly related, and definitely my close relations!
And well, if you have followed me for a while, you would know I have a collection or two, or 50, but I have discovered that my largest collection to date is the huge volume of photos on my computer, cds, dvds, albums, walls, theyre everywhere!

I havent got the heart to delete or part with them...
Unfortunately, it has come to the crunch , my computer is so full, it is having trouble coping with the masses of folders of photos I need to burn to cds.
I must say, I have improved with my photography immensely over the years, and I think this blog has something to do with it, I have been clicking away for many years, and I think I will be taking my camera to my grave, haha!
So with all that said.....I thought Id put together some favourite photos over the years from my collection.
, starting with 'Junkstudio gardens'.

I will be back soon with a slideshow or two!

If time stood still...

Today is my 'gorgeous girl's 20th birthday'!
Moving into her third decade of life, she has become a confident, beautiful young woman, with a vision to a happy and fulfilled life ahead. The past few weeks she has been busy cramming in all her teenage ways, to make way for her 20's!

We are so proud of her and who she is , but it is hard to forget the little girl she was....I hope she makes time to still smell the flowers in the future, as she did at 18 months!

This is my all time favourite photo, with her chubby cheeks!( She'll scream when she sees this!)

Gorgeous girl's room update?? Not finished, surprise surprise!

It is close, but still carpet needs cleaning, Im painting today, and then we can decorate and fill with furniture....a week at tops, I promise!!

You may ask where I put all the stuff that was in the room?
Well look at my verandah I spent about 6 months clearing last year...yeah I know what you are thinking but hopefully it will all fit in hubby's and my new office (daughters old bedroom).

I will post photos of the finished room soon, very soon!
