And then there were four.....

Well hello fellow junkers...

We are going through some changes here lately, and  starting with the middle child flying the coop, literally!

After graduating her flight attendant course, and then landing a job with Qantas, it was time for her to find a place near work. So she now resides in the city, when she isnt flying!

But it doesnt stop there....Our eldest daughter is house hunting down the coast, in preparation for Uni next year!

The girls always seem to do things around the same time, so it is a double whammy!

Hopefully our son will hang around a little longer, I dont think I could take all of them leaving at once...

I guess keeping busy with work has helped, but the emotions are all over the place, and thoughts of the future are hovering.

So, as Christmas and the New Year roll around, it is a time to refocus, rethink, and  reflect on the past year. Every year justs comes around that little bit quicker....it seems there are never enough hours, days and weeks to fit everything and everyone in!

After the last sale here in the studio on Saturday, I will be finishing off orders, and slowing down to a walking pace till the New Year.

But for now, full steam ahead!

I'll be back next week to share some pics from the sale, and I feel some specials coming on, in the website, to finish the year out!!!

Lost and found...

These got lost in the mounds of junk in my office. I finally had a chance this morning to clean up and sort, and basically make a walkway!

They will be moving down to the studio this weekend, and I will share some more updated photos of the 'Studio Makeover'progress soon, stay tuned!

It's a new day...

Hibiscus in bloom

My cleaning frenzy was slammed to a holt a few days ago when I hurt my neck...don't worry ,this is a regular injury, and nobody's fault but my own. I'm impatient when it comes to moving things, and need to move it then and there, no time to loose!
Thankfully it is mending and I'm able to do light duties!
New additions

I have so much to do this week, a sore neck wasn't worked into the equation, oh well, the usual last minute rush is on the cards, in preparation for another sale this Saturday!

New additions

Toby will be happy to see this pile move down to the studio, he likes to be able to see us when he is outside, looking in!

Lucky last!!

As you have probably noticed, Ive been madly finishing things off for the studio...
My next sale is this Saturday, and as usual, Ive put myself under alot of pressure leading up to it.
Im drawing the line at this point, and this item is lucky last!
When I redo antique pieces, I still like to keep them as antiques, but with a refreshed look, or maybe something else, depending on whether it is in good condition.
This fire screen is in excellent condition, but missing the actual screen!

Come on over to the Junkshed, and see its transformation!
Visit here to purchase.

My latest and greatest!!!

I cant wipe the smile off my face today!!
I finished a project I have been waiting to do for years...
I knew when I found this table, I would transform it, though I had to choose the right time.

Come and check it out here, and please come back and share the love!
I hope you love it as much as I do, well maybe not as much, Im not selling it , it is a keeper,
for now!

New stuff!

I have been collecting mannequins for years, and in the last few, my collection has grown to almost anything remotely like a mannequin, whether it is statues, jewellery stands, Curvy lady and child.....
I just love them, maybe it is from the years of dressing windows in David Jones...

The graphics Fairy came up with these gorgeous images I couldnt resist!
I love them as is, but couldnt help dress them up a bit. Im adding these to the studio, and will make some more for my office soon!

Now back to pricing, and cleaning those spiderwebs away to open in the morning!

Dont blink!!!

Is today Monday? Mmmm, no I think it is Wednesday, I have no idea what date, time has just passed at lightning speed. Why is that, did I blink?
Dont you feel that sometimes life just passes you by, you are 'in the moment', in my case, painting, sanding, cleaning, restoring, reorganising, oh and did I say cleaning? I like keeping busy, but I tend to tune out too often, and all of a sudden school holidays are over, and my son is back at school, and hubby is back from a trip on the other side of the country!

The biggest news this week has to be 'middle child's' 18th birthday this Saturday, so I know that Saturday is the 1st of August, 'Wattle day', or as most seem to keep reminding us, The horses birthday! I think I must have blinked a dozen times for that to happen, how could Larissa be 18 already?
Ive ordered the cake, Ive received the RSVP's, and Ive wrapped the presents!!
I just need to stop the clock, go back in time, and revisit wonderful memories of Larissa's childhood , as she moves into the 'grownup' world! Out come the photo albums and videos!
I have nearly finished some wonderful projects, and will share them soon, bare with me!

Here's a glimpse of some items for sale on Saturday, lets browse....

This Saturday, 8am - 1pm
A reluctant sale, but a much needed one this month...the weather isnt too good at the moment, and the weekend isnt going to be much better. The lead up has kept me quite busy as usual, but finishing some projects might be a challenge in the wet!

On a more positive note, the studio is filled with more than enough, and I have added lots to the website. This will be my last sale until September, so fingers crossed, the sun will shine!

Through winter, I will be open by appointment on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 -12 noon, but you can always pop over to the studio's website, or my ebay store.

There are always added distractions when Im running around stupid, finishing last minute items, and this one is no exception....apart from organising a 21st birthday to celebrate in a couple of weeks, a trip to Vietnam two weeks later, and an 18th birthday three weeks after that, I have a leaky bathroom. My son's room is so smelly with damp carpet, he has had to move out into my office/craft room! It's all happening here, all at once, as usual! I guess I can be thankful we are not living on the north coast where the floods are, two rooms are more than enough to deal with! I hope the government are going to help them out as they did with the Victorian fires...some of these people have endured floods only months ago.

Well, wish me luck for Saturday, and if you are close by, come and join me!

Milk and one sugar please!!

I love doing things with tea cups and saucers, I have so many of them, and they are so pretty.

I made 'teacup candles' a while ago for the studio, they smell devine.
So I found these gorgeous cups while out junking on Saturday,
and couldnt resist making these!
Im busy making things for Mothers day now, it is just around the corner!
Hopefully it will be fine weather for Saturday, Sale Day....

All over the place!

Yes, it's that time again, doesnt the month go fast!! I decided to have an Easter Raffle for a bit of fun. Sorry guys, you have to actually come to the sale in person to enter, so if you live close by, you could win this!

As mentioned before, I work better under pressure, and tend to leave things to the last minute, then have a mad rush to finish....well in keeping to my word, here it is Friday, and I managed to transform these in three days!
Side table
Coffee table
Display / inspiration board

Sweet little display table

Cute little cane and timber trunk

And lastly, what to do with old chair or table bases???? I will show you more pics of this one next time!

This week has been all over the place.....

A day of restocking and rearranging the studio, and junking and filling my car with some wonderful projects to start,

buying a new/old lounge (which I may tizzy up a bit later),

grocery shopping, cleaning house, mowing lawns, taking the car to the mechanic, finishing some sewing projects, washing Toby, fixing the pool gate, adding some more plants to the garden, going to my business course, preparing for the sale tomorrow, and lastly, catching a few minutes with my kids! Wow, what a week!

Hopefully I can catch a few minutes with hubby tomorrow night for an all important date......

Lucky last!

After my last post, things seem to feel meaningless, time has stood still for a moment. 200 lives are expected to have been lost by the end of today, approx 5000 people, homeless.I cant express the emotions we are feeling at the moment, and our hearts go out to everyone involved.

Sue's girls!

This past weekend , as devastating as it has been, and as hot as it has been, we here, had one last birthday out of the eleven, to celebrate.....mine. I wished I could sleep through it, the heat wasnt an incentive to venture out anywhere, but my dear friend Sue and her family asked us for lunch. Of course, living on the coast, it was 10 degrees cooler than here, and she is a wonderful host and cook, so we went!
I was showered with hugs ,kisses, flowers , chocolates, an exceptional lunch, and dessert, and a beautiful breeze!

Five hours later, we were invited to another friend's place, for a yum

my dinner, and dessert, and flowers! So spoilt, but so lucky to have some wonderful friends. A cool change came, so lovely, but when we arrived home, our home was like an oven!

Today it is raining, and about 20 degrees cooler.

Ive been adding some more stock to my studio, and ebay store...click on the links on the side bar and come and have a look....Preparations are under way for my next sale, 28th Feb, I hope it stays cool!
